What is a medium?

A medium or a channel is a psychic who goes into trance and evokes the spirit entities such as the spirits of the dead, spirit guides and angels from the world of astral beings. Who can be a medium?

2. Most people are extremely body conscious, which is another way of saying that they are less soul conscious. It is difficult for them to get detached from their bodies, which is an essential pre-requisite to become a medium.

It must be noted that spirits have no physical bodies. They are made up of light and energy. A human being can attune to the wavelength of a spirit only if he too can assume a bodiless state. It is another way of saying that we should shed our egoism, which is born out of our excessive identification with our bodies.

A beautiful woman, for example, always remains conscious of her physical beauty. A strong and muscular man remains proud of his strength. A blind man is constantly obsessed with his eyes. A sick man always keeps thinking about his health. All these are indications of body consciousness in varying forms.

Egoism is not necessarily a synonym for pride and aggressiveness. It is essentially a state of excessive body consciousness. Egoistic people are too ‘heavy’ to come at par with the lightness of the spirits.

Trance
